  10. Packard Bell 486 desktop bought last year with 2400 baud internal
  11. modem on com1, now supplementing with 28.8K US Robotics Sportster
  12. external plugged into com2. I THINK I did all the settings right
  13. per manuals, but response is flaky with all softwares installed
  14. (procomm, compuserve info mgr, compuserve mosaic). With no change
  15. of installation, repeat tries to log on may work fine, or declare
  16. modem not responding, or OK but password wrong, or 'modem error',
  17. etc ... often resolved by turning modem off then on again and try
  18. again. Everything works fine, good session, maybe one try in 3.
  19. Modem returned to store checks out fine (salesman reports.) Any
  20. ideas ?
